3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit our website, your request is routed through Cloudflare's global content delivery network. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and request metadata to deliver the website securely and efficiently. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For more information, see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The use of Cloudflare is for the purpose of secure, fast, and efficient provision of our online offering (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. General Information and Mandatory Disclosures

Data Protection

We process personal data only to the extent necessary and in accordance with the applicable legal provisions (GDPR, BDSG, TMG). Our website can generally be used without providing personal data.

SSL/TLS Encryption

This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the lock symbol in the browser address bar and the "https://" prefix in the URL.

5. Data Collection on This Website

Server Log Files

The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources. The basis for data processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in ensuring the secure and stable operation of the website).

Cookies

Our website currently does not use cookies for tracking or analytics purposes. Should this change in the future, we will update this privacy policy accordingly and obtain your consent where required.

6. Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, open-source web analytics tool hosted on our own infrastructure (self-hosted at plausible.genai-wednesday.de). Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual visitors across websites.

In addition to aggregate page view statistics, we track the following anonymized events:

  • Clicks on outbound links (e.g., LinkedIn, YouTube, Luma) — to understand which resources are most useful
  • YouTube video plays — to measure which presentations are most watched
  • PDF downloads — to track interest in presentation slides
  • Scroll depth — to understand how far visitors read on each page

All event tracking is anonymized and aggregated. No personal data, cookies, or cross-site identifiers are used. All analytics data is stored on our own servers within the EU. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding website usage to improve our service).

7. External Services and Embeds

YouTube

We embed videos from YouTube using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). This means YouTube does not store cookies on your device until you actively play a video. When you play an embedded video, a connection to YouTube's servers (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is established. YouTube may then set cookies and collect data about your usage behavior. For more information, see YouTube's privacy policy.

The use of YouTube is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offerings. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Luma

We use Luma (lu.ma) for event registration. When you interact with Luma embeds or links on our website, you will be directed to Luma's platform, which has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing Luma's privacy policy before registering for events.

Google Fonts

This site uses Google Fonts for uniform font rendering. When you access a page, your browser loads the required fonts from Google's servers (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). This establishes a connection to Google's servers, through which Google learns that our website has been accessed via your IP address. This may involve the transfer of data to the United States. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For more information, see Google's privacy policy.

LinkedIn

Our website contains links to our LinkedIn company page. When you click on a LinkedIn link, you will be redirected to LinkedIn's platform. LinkedIn has its own privacy policy, which you can review at LinkedIn's privacy policy.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access (Art. 15 GDPR): You have the right to request confirmation as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed and to request access to that data.
  • Right to Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal data.
